Bio-Individuality is one of the core concepts woven throughout the health programs at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City where I received my Holistic Health Coaching Certification. It’s the concept that there is not a one size fits all diet for everyone, and is the key to unlocking the perfect diet for your unique body.

There is so much conflicting data around fad diets that come and go, paleo, keto, low-fat, high-fat, low-carb, no-carb, vegan, no sugar, dairy-free, gluten-free, etc., that leaves you wondering, “What on earth am I supposed to eat?” Trust me, I have spent the last ten years experimenting with specialized diets to meet the specific dietary needs of my family and myself and it is not only confusing but downright frustrating at times. And that’s why I’m here to help!

There is no such thing as a “one size fits all” diet because we truly are all so different. We have different body compositions, metabolisms, nutritional needs, preferences, genetics, and lifestyles. This is why one person’s food can be another person’s poison. Some foods can make us feel amazing while others leave us feeling sick and tired. Some of us have food allergies or sensitivities we are not even aware of that could be driving digestive issues, inflammation, depression, or are just keep us from feeling our best. While sometimes it is necessary to follow a specialized diet and eliminate certain foods in order to heal our bodies, it is not usually required long term. I work closely with my clients to develop a unique healthy eating blueprint that takes into consideration overall wellness goals, underlying health concerns, lifestyle challenges, and unique nutritional requirements. We will work together to discover and phase out some of the foods that are sabotaging your health and add in more nutrient-dense superfoods that will leave you feeling energized and amazing every day!

Coaching Beyond the Table

To me, the concept of Coaching Beyond the Table is at the very core of true Holistic Health Coaching. While what we choose to put on our plate has a huge impact on our physical health, we need to make sure we are nourishing our mental, emotional, and spiritual needs as well. There are so many other factors in our lives that contribute to our overall health and wellbeing. Getting enough exercise, a good night’s sleep, healthy relationships, a career you enjoy, regular social connections, positive thoughts, proper stress management, and spirituality are all key players that contribute to our ability to thrive and experience joy in everyday life. We will work together in all areas of your life, set health priorities and goals, and develop a self-care routine that seeks to bring balance back into your everyday life.

We live in a world where being busy is glorified and being overwhelmed and completely stressed out has become the norm. We are so connected every moment of every day that we have become completely disconnected with ourselves and what makes us happy. We are made to feel guilty at the mere thought of doing something for ourselves or taking some “me” time. Selfcare is not “selfish” but is absolutely essential!
